If there's one thing I learned in my over 10 years in the business of inspiring and developing people, it's this: Trust is the beginning of possibility.
If you think about it, what's the starting point of everything? You've heard about an old maxim saying, "No one makes it alone," right? If you believe in that, where do two or three or one hundred people start?
Start with the vision? Hmmm. Maybe not. Believing in a vision without trusting first, is next to impossible.
Start with a fail-proof strategy? Hmmmm. Unlikely. No genius strategy can work without trust, first on the person presenting the strategy or the strategy itself.
Start with resources? Hmmmm.
A stepback leader knows that trust is the beginning of possibility. He, or she, knows that nothing great can ever be achieved without trust. And just how our ancestors in Ifugao Rice Terraces built such engineering marvel that stood the test of time, we must trust our people in everything that we do.
That's it for today.
